This is our new place, it's coming together nicely. Thanks to everyone again for all the help, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, uncle Stanton, uncle Allen and everybody else. It's awesome to not have to sit on the edge of the bed to eat food or put all my cloths in different piles on the floor to keep organized. Also we did find a couch and got to it before it rained too. Got a sweet microwave at goodwill for 10 bucks and a few lamps at Big Lots for cheep too. It's awesome to have a home. One last thing, this diet is lame.
So here we are in Hamilton, OH. The last 2 days have felt soooooooooo long because we started our detox/diet yesterday. This includes drinking warm lemon water in the morning along with a wheat based organic breakfast cereal (which Rob actually likes). The lemon water is for a detox purpose I don't remember. We also take an acidophilus pill in the morning, which is an probiotic. This is a "good bacteria" pill that displaces bad bacteria and toxins in the body. We went out and bought tons of fruits and veggies (mostly green, because chlorophyll is part of the detox process), wheat breads and crackers, cheese yogurt milk and cottage cheese (dairy is part of the diet as well, with proteins) and some organic based lunchmeats and chicken strips. Also some organic honey, lots of water, and some nuts. In the evening we take a 20 minute bath in epsom salts to aid the detox process and expel more toxins, and take a fish/flax oil supplement for the detox. We are also trying to eat 5-6 very small meals to get the metabolism rolling constantly, along with drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. So far, we have discovered that we are both exhausted, which I read is a sign that toxins are leaving the body. Hopefully that means in the next few days we will feel very energetic. Also, its hard to get full when you are used to eating unhealthy food, because healthy food doesn't fill you the same way junk food does. Pizza and Pepsi sound really good right now, but we are holding strong! Kaje actually made a really good honey (organic) glazed chicken last night, and Rob made some fresh cooked green beans to go with. We'll see how the next few days go.
Last night we fell asleep at 10PM!!!!!!!! Which worked because we were up at 6 and at the farm at 7. The farm should be interesting- already we are having some issues sharing equipment and getting what we need as soon as we need it, its just a long process and lots of phone calls. Hopefully once the peppers get in the ground it should go smoothly. And hopefully it won't rain the next 5 days like the weather channel says it will.
Kaje wants to plant strawberries on our porch.
Pictures should be up shortly of our lovely apartment. Thank you thank you thank you again Mom and Dad Holthouse for ALL your help with the moving and the supplies.
Well, everything's set for the apartment in Hamilton. We are moving down there on Saturday, which gives us a few days to get everything in order. Kaje's 1st online class is nearly over, so she spent a few hours working on a group project today, but most of our time was spent getting over half our invitations out in the mail. We hope to finish those tomorrow, as well as picking out a couch and getting our furniture out and into the trailer. We also need to go through all Rob's stuff and decide what to keep and what to save in storage or throw out. Other than that, its been a nice relaxing day, and hopefully the rain will stop soon so we can go golfing before we go down. Anyways, here are some pictures of the apartments...none of them are ours but it will give you an idea

We are in Willard! We spent the last few days learning what we needed to know for the farming- water samples, chemical balance, hiring info. Yesterday we went down to Hamilton to check out apartments and take a look at the farm we'll be working on. Its actually quite a nice area, a pretty big city/town with tons of places for shopping and restaurants. The downtown area looks historic. We will be right next to the Great Miami River. We looked at 4 apartments and found one we really liked. If we get approved for it we'll stick pictures up. Keep your fingers crossed! We won't be moving down there until next Monday when Rob's dad can take us. So we have about a week to just relax and enjoy the slowly warming weather. We have started running to get back into shape. Also, we have been given a dining room table, bed frame, and dresser from his family, and have a nice bed to borrow while we are down there, so we are very excited that we are nearly furnished! There are also some chairs we might take down as well. Now all we need is a couch and we will be set. We are both ready for things to get rolling and to get settled.
We are about to go IHOP and take a nice break from packing. Then tomorrow its off to Willard! Rob's dad is driving out with a trailer so we can bring everything in one trip, and we sold our crappy little twin bed today. We are moving on, to a much bigger bed and a bigger room, too. We are actually going down to Hamilton on Friday to go look at 4 apartments, and hopefully find exactly what we need. One of the apartments has a fireplace- we are sort of pulling for that one :-) We finally got Rob's taxes sent out, and because he never got his stimulus payment last year, instead of us owing $800 like we thought he would, he is getting over $100 back! Good news for us, we have some money in order to pay what we need to and have a little fun too. Also, in case anyone didn't know, we got new phones and switched over to Verizon, since its pretty much the only service that works where we are going and its much better than T-Mobile. Our new numbers are:
Kaje- (312) 550-2918
Rob- (312) 550-7303
Love you all, and we'll post more once we are settled.
So we have been pretty busy lately trying to get everything in order for the move tomorrow or tuesday at the latest. It should be an interesting couple of weeks, we dont know where we are living in hamilton yet, or how soon we are getting there.Umm.... not much else really. We got to stay in a huge suite at the hotel kaje was working for for 30 bucks on her employee discount... Oh and we are back on verizon
Its finally Friday! The week has dragged on, and Rob and I have barely seen each other. I was working at a hotel from 3-11 (translating from 2-12, Chicago Traffic Time) and he was working the days I have off! By the time one of us gets in from work, we drop into bed and fall asleep exhausted. Its been L.A.M.E. Fortunately the week has let me pay for my own cell phone bill once again (I feel like such a big girl!). Also I got my tax return back!!! Which is just going to go right back when I send it in for Rob's taxes!!! (L.A.M.E.) Ah well. It's technically money I never had so I won't miss it...right?
Kristina is coming up for the weekend and I'm excited, planning things to do and where to take her. She's never really seen Chicago and even though its going to be cold (L.A.M.E.), its not supposed to rain until Sunday when she leaves. I was looking at the cruises, and some fun times at Millennium Park (the giant bean mirror is there) and maybe the aquarium. There's plenty to do just around Navy Pier. And some good old fashioned shopping, anywhere. There's nothing like shopping with someone else's money, especially when they let you keep a purchase!
My first online class started yesterday, which promises to be L.A.M.E. (has anyone picked up a theme yet?) because the class is a 3 week required course on HOW TO TAKE ONLINE CLASSES. Even though I've taken an online class before, I couldn't get out of it. Grrr. But it will take up a few hours 5 days a week, and the work at the hotel goes until the 9th, and I suspect we are leaving quite shortly thereafter. So somewhere in there I need to pack, as well. No, we don't have alot here, but alot of it is small stuff that will get left behind by accident.
Good news: with this sudden but slight onburst of cash I have been granted, I was finally able to buy Robert a birthday present! What else...I got my wedding dress in and figured out what needs to be adjusted, so now I need to find a seamstress in Hamilton, or Cincinnati, and buy correct undergarments so I can get fitted. And the invitations should be out in the next two weeks. I'm SO off schedule from when I wanted to send them, but we didn't have them in our possession, and I am waiting on the final parts so I can make them, and we don't have a return address for ourselves yet. I have so much to do for the wedding yet, and so much of it requires me to wait for things before I can get started. I hate doing things last minute.
I'm going to go clean now. L.A.M.E.
