Breakfast On Pluto

Its been awhile since we have updated! Lets see...
We are officially settled in Florida! The drive to Orlando was relatively uneventful. Rob drove our 16 foot van packed with stuff, and Kaje drove the car with the two cats meowing away. Packing was a nightmare and we ended up packing until 2 in the morning, and then waking up at 7 and packing and cleaning. We finally got out around 11 and drove through the pouring rain to South Carolina, where we got to see James and Emily and their two cats, who are MUCH bigger than Dexter and Oscar. And they know fun tricks. As we were talking, James mentioned his company had an operation in Orlando, and offered to see if there were any openings in Florida. Since we are on unemployment right now, any jobs sound great. The next day we drove down to Florida. Dexter loves riding in the car and fell asleep right away, but Oscar does not like riding in the car and was meowing loudly, until Kaje put on classical music. The second the music started, he fell asleep. Once the classical music was done, he woke up and started meowing loudly. So she put more classical music on. Asleep. We don't know why he does this.

Now we are in Florida, we've had a chance to drive around, we went to the beach in Daytona and Rob found he actually likes the ocean as long as he doesn't think about sharks, but we are waiting until warmer weather to go swimming, so we just waded. We also walked around Downtown Disney and got Kaje the first candied apple she has had in 13 years. What we like about Florida- its warm (not too warm now, it started out in the 80s but its now in the 70s and getting colder), not humid, the scenery is new with palm trees, we can go to the beach, and there are new things to do. What we don't like about Florida- everybody and their mother come up and talk to you for no reason, and no one in the entire state can drive. We have seen more stupid accidents or near accidents in the 2 weeks we have been here than ever in our lives.

So it turns out James' company had an opening, Rob got himself an interview and nailed it. We found out on Friday that he was hired, and they wanted him to start training in Atlanta, GA on Monday! So Rob has driven up to Atlanta and will be there for three weeks, getting home sometime after Thanksgiving. Kaje is enjoying her birthday and thanksgiving in Florida, but will go up to NH for a week to see her family.
